So who do we think we are? A bunch of guys who obviously don’t know enough to rise to the level of corporate executives or political office decide that the ‘net just wouldn’t be complete without a few additions from us. This has got to be some kind of macho, testosterone induced hubris.
Also of note, is that we decided to put ourselves in charge. I will repeat that this is a group of all guys. I can’t speak for the others, but I am a lazy guy. I think that is the reason I became a computer programmer in the first place. How enticing it seemed to my young high school mind that I could get a computer to do all of this math and algorithmic work. That would certainly leave more time for me to contemplate new pac-man strategies, or Rubics cube solutions, or figure out how I could get a girl to talk to me without me ever having to utter a word. Ah, the innocence of youth.
The girls of my age were planning on becoming a pharmacist, or a teacher, or a photographer, or a social worker. These girls all thought about getting real jobs and working for a living. All the while I am thinking about how I can get a computer to do my work for me. It is no wonder that the computer industry is full of guys. The women are all better motivated!
Anyway, there is at least one lazy guy putting out info for you to consume. As of yet there are no women, and rightfully so.
