French Looting Proficiency Comes in Handy Following Hurricane François

I heard that there were riots in a place called France, so I decided to investigate further.
During my research, I saw one of the newsdroids on CNN discussing the African-American involvement with the unrest. I was shocked. I had no idea that African-Americans were so concerned with French social and political matters.
I thought that the one issue that unites all Americans, be they Christian or Jew, black or white, named Ed or not named Ed, is that we all give our collecitve middle finger to France. Yet, here they were, African-Americans, in France, trying to effect change.
Upon further review, it dawned on me that perhaps the newsdroid, in a paroxysm of political correctness, decided to favor inoffensive, non-disrespectful verbiage over that pesky “accuracy” concept. These are the same politically correct automatons that refer to Mexican criminal trespassers as “undocumented.” At least the term “undocumented” contains a sliver of truth: illegal immigrants are, indeed, undocumented. But, it seems that this particular newsdrone was referring to black French rioters as “African-American.” According to this newsdrone, apparently we can aggregate all of the African peoples of this world under the banner “African-American” regardless of whether they are, in fact, American. Surya Bonaly is, apparently, African-American. Xyz is, apparently, African-American. [Note to editor: replace Xyz with another famous black French person.]
But, what do I know? This whole political correctness nonsense was only just beginning to gain momentum during my formative adolescent years; accordingly, I have been denied the enlightenment afforded thereto. Perhaps somebodywho is younger than I am can explain.
